Class News
  • Happy Anniversary to Todd & Laura Lindley, tomorrow, September 26th!
  • Men's Bible Study: Will meet this Thursday, September 29th, 6:30am, at the Chick-fil-A in the Brassfield Shopping Center.
  • Upcoming Dates:
    • September 30th (THIS Friday): The men are going to see the "Courageous" movie at The Grande. The movie starts at 9:50pm. Men will meet at Jason's Deli (in the news Shoppes at Friendly) to grab a bite to eat at 8:30pm. If you have not paid Nathan for your ticket, please do so ($9.25). If you told Nathan you plan to go, but cannot, please let him know so he can sell your ticket. Currently, Nathan has 3 extra tickets, so if you know of a friend you'd like to invite, please do so!

    • October 14th: Class Social/Outreach Project: Our class will go to the Western Guilford High School Football Game, 7:30pm. Before the game, the men will have a chance to go into the locker room, speak to the players/coaches and lead them in prayer. As a class, we will also be putting together bags to give to each of the players (most likely filled with fruit, water, snacks, etc). More details to come!

411 Resumes Tonight! For Students @ 6:15pm. Middle School meets in Room 361 & High School meets in the chapel.

Pastor Appreciation Night is Sunday, October 2nd. This will be part of the 6:15 service. Light refreshments will be served and baskets will be available for your cards of appreciation.

Lawndale Gear: Now available to order in the Worship Center Lobby.

Women's Ministry
Women's Mission Groups:
  • Megan Bowles WMU meets Tuesday, October 4th at 7pm in Room 362
  • Evelyn Frost WMU meets Tuesday, October 11th at 10am at the home of Donna Navey. Anyone wanting to ride together, meet in the church parking lot at 9:30am.
  • Jean Phillips WMU meets Tuesday, October 11th at 10am in Room 232.
  • Alita Blackmon WMU meets Tuesday, October 11th at 7pm in Room 217.

Women's Fall Small Group Bible Studies are available. A complete list with dates, times, locations and facilitators is available on our website.
Candlelight Coffee is Back! Friday, November 11th in the CLC. 7-9pm. Tickets will go on sale for $5 in the lobby or online in October.

Student Ministry

5th Quarter Nights in the CLC: (8:00pm-12:00am) Open to all 6th-12th grades Friday, September 30th and Friday, October 14th. Cost: $5 and bring your own drink.

Activities Ministry
Fall Spectacular: Monday, October 31st, 5:30-9:00pm. Sign up sheets to volunteer will be in your LJG folders. We are now collecting candy to be distributed that evening. Containers will be located in the collection area on the first level of the church.

Children's Ministry
Parent/Child Dedication: Sunday, October 16th. If you wish to participate and did not receive a letter, please contact Carol McKinney in the church office. All registration information is due by October 7th.

Married Adult Ministry
Courageous Living Bible Study: A 4 week men's only study is based on the film "Courageous." It will start October 2 at 5pm.
Operation Outreach: Sunday, October 2nd in the library (Room 263) at 4pm.

Additional Announcements
Chick-fil-A Spirit Night for Operation Christmas Child: Monday, October 10th @ the Chick-Fil-A on Pisgah Church Road and Thursday, November 17, 5-8pm.
Mission Fair: Come and see some of the many ways Lawndale is touching lives. A Missions Fair "Building Bridges, Touching Lives" will be held in the CLC from 10:15am-11:00am on Sunday, October 9th. You'll have an opportunity to meet leaders and ask questions. 9:15am LJGs will dismiss at 10:10 while 10:45 LJGs will begin at 11am.

Operation Christmas Child - Year Long Collection - October Items: Hygiene items, all ages, boys and girls. Suggestions: tooth brushes, dental floss, chap stick, tooth paste, bar soap, magic towels, hair brushes, combs, barrettes, hair ornaments. Did you know? The recipient of each box is offered a gospel booklet. The Greatest Gift of All, printed in his own language or native dialect and his family is offered an opportunity for following up after reading it.
Greensboro Life Chain 2011: This year the Life Chain will be Sunday, October 2nd, from 2:30-3:30pm along Battleground Avenue (in front of Krispy Kreme). The national Life Chain is the largest peaceful, prayerful, pro-life, public witness in the world. More than 1500 cities across the US and Canad are expected to participate.

Children's Ministry
Baby Class Needs: Safer glider rockers are needed for the baby class. The traditional rockers pose a safety risk to the little ones' feet and hands. If you have one in good condition which you would like to donate, please contact Deborah Brown in the church office.

Married Adult Ministry
Homeschool Support Group Parents are invited to dessert and coffee in Guest Central, September 20th from 7:00-8:30pm.
