Class News

• Rodney, thanks so much for coming to speak to our class this morning. We appreciate your taking the time to visit our class and allowing God to use you to minister to us! The title of next week's lesson is Do You Get Along With Others? The background and lesson passage for next week is 1 Thessalonians 5:12-18.
• Ladies Bible Study: We will continue our study in Esther tomorrow at Ashlee Wallace's house. Come join us at 6:30! (The food sign-up is posted on the left side of the blog page)
• SOUPer Bowl Party: Join us for our 2nd Annual SOUPer Bowl party at Jeremy & Misty's house this coming Sunday, February 1st. Click here for the food sign-up and all of the details! Update: The winner of the "interactive quiz" will not only win the squirrel, but a Cold Stone Ice Cream Cake too! (Thanks Marc & Lauren)

Church/Promoter News

• LifePlus classes meet each Sunday at 5:00pm. Contact Judy Faust in the church office, 288-3824, regarding questions or for more information.

Activities

SOUPer Bowl: On Sunday, February 1st, there will be a church wide collection of canned soup for the LBC Food Pantry and Urban Ministry. Please bring your cans to the church lobby where there will be a designated area for donations. We request that you donate cans with pop top lids.

2009 Spring Softball: February 15th is the deadline for registration. There is a fee of $30. For more information, please contact Jimmy Jackson at 288-3824.

Married Adults

Marriage & Parenting Seminars: Please register with Jennifer Wilson at 288-3824 at least a week before the event. If childcare is needed, please indicate the child's name and age.

• Marriage 101, Basic Principles for Marriage: March 14th from 9am-Noon.

Service Opportunity

The Food Service Ministry is in need of extra help. In your LJG folder, you will find volunteer surveys. If this is an area in which you feel led to serve, please fill out the survey and return to your LJG folder. Thank you. Weekly Preschool Registration

Registration fro the 2009-2010 school year will begin at 9am on Monday, February 2nd through Friday, February 6th. As some of the age groups have limited enrollment and registration is taken on a first-come first-served basis, it is advised that you register early. Registration forms will be available on Monday, January 26th. Please call Ann Johnson at 282-4177 for more information.

• The 2009 Spring semester of LifePlus will begin tonight at 5pm. Stop by the table in the Lobby TODAY and register for the class that interests you.
• January 14: 2009 Choir Kick-Off! If you are interested in singing in the choir, or you would like to see what is being planned for the upcoming year, stop by the Fellowship Hall at 7pm this Wednesday!
• A note from the office... If you have decided to use your cell phone as your primary phone and do not have a home phone number anymore, please let the church office know so our records can be updated and accurate. • Flower Calendar for 2009: The Flower Calendar for the New Year has been posted. You can sign up to provide Sunday flowers for the Worship Center or the Central Lobby in memory or honor of someone or a special event. The flowers may be taken home after the Sunday evening service. Arrangements can be provided at a cost of $75, $100 or $125. Sign up now to get the date of your choice.

2009 Valentine Banquet: Our annual Valentine Banquet will be held on Sunday evening, February 8. Tickets are available in the worship center lobby on Sundays. The entertainer will be Charles Marshall, a Christian comedian. You can watch his videos by searching for him on YouTube.

The questions will have to do wit the things that happen during the game, commercials, half time show, etc. The couple with the highest combined score will win the squirrel and a Cold Stone Ice Cream Cake courtesy of Marc & Lauren. Get your game faces on everybody! Make sure you arrive with plenty of time to answer the questions before the game starts.

Upward Basketball/Cheerleading: Coaches are needed for 1st-4th grade, and officials are needed for all divisions. Call Jimmy at 288-3824, ext. 315 if interested. Games begin the weekend of January 9, and continue through February.
