Class News

• Thanks Jeremy for another great lesson! The title of next week's lesson is God is Revealed. The background and lesson passages for next week are Psalm 19:1-14. We will be working out of the new Fall Learner Guide. If you have not had a chance to pick up your copy, there are plenty of extras in the LJG room!
• Happy Birthday to Julia Toth on Tuesday, September 1st!
• There is one breakfast date available, October 4th. If you are interested in bringing breakfast on this day, please let Melissa know.
• Men's Bible Study: Will meet this Friday, September 4th at 6:30am at the Chick-fil-A in the Brassfield Shopping Center. All men are welcome!
  
• Women's Bible Study: Will begin Monday, September 14th at 6:45 at Ashlee Wallace's House. Donna Navey will be leading this course. Please bring $4 cash to cover the cost of the notebook. All ladies are welcome!

1. September 12: Baby shower honoring Mark & Denise Simpson (from the Walking Together LJG). The shower will be at Amy Styer's House from 10am-12pm (Address and phone number coming soon). If you plan to attend, please contact Amy so she can plan accordingly. Mark & Denise are registered at Babies R Us and Target.
2. September 19: Baby shower honoring Matt & Melissa Gardner. More details and sign up sheet coming soon!
3. September 26: Todd & Laura's wedding! Todd & Laura have extended invitations to our LJG. The wedding is Saturday, September 26th at 4pm at the Tanglewood Park Arboretum (4061 Clemmons Road/Clemmons, NC). A reception will follow the service in the Ballroom.
4. October 17: Baby Shower honoring Billy & Priscilla Martin. More details and sign up sheet coming soon!

Children
Promotion Sunday in LJGs: Sunday, September 6th. Preschoolers (birth-kindergarten) and elementary children (grades 1-5) will receive notification by mail of your new classroom.
Parent/Child Dedication: Will be on Sunday, October 4th during both morning services. Letters have been sent to parents who have a new baby. Registration and requested information is due back to the church office no later than Friday, September 25th. If you did not receive the information and desire to participate, please contact Carol in the church office at 288-3824 or cmckinney@lawndalebaptist.org.

Married Adults
Marriage & Parenting Seminars: Please register with Jennifer Wilson at 288-3824 at least a week before the event. If childcare is needed, please indicate the child's name and age.

• Marriage 401- Perseverance for the Journey: Saturday, September 19th from 9:00am-12:00pm in Room 263.
• Pre-marriage/Newly Married Class: Is scheduled for 7 Wednesday nights from 7:00pm-8:00pm, beginning October 7th. Register with Jennifer in the church office by September 30th.

Johnny M. Hunt Men's Conference: "Triple Play-The Trilogy of Men's Struggles," will be on Friday, October 2nd & Saturday, October 3rd at Green Street Baptist Church (303 N. Rotary Drive, High Point). Johnny is the president of the Southern Baptist Convention and Senior Pastor of FBC Woodstock, GA. His conference will address three areas in which men struggle with and must remain vigilant: money, sex and pride. $59 registration fee include Friday night steak dinner, snacks, workbook and CDs of the sessions ($49 before September 1st). Operation Christmas Child Trip: Reserve November 30th-December 2nd on your calendar to assist in processing shoe box gifts for OCC. We will travel to Boone on Sunday afternoon and are limited to 25 people. Make your reservations by submitting a check for $25/person to the financial office in an envelope marked "Boone Mission Trip, Operation Christmas Child, November 30th-December 2nd." Your only cost will be a discount hotel and some meals.

We will start by having dinner in small groups at 5:30 (groups will be announced soon). Following dinner, everyone will meet at Greg and Laura Pearman's house for dessert and games. The Pearman's address is 10 Highland Bluff Court, Greensboro/27410.

WMU: Each year, the WMU of NC sponsors a weekend retreat for women from the NC State Prison in Raleigh. Before leaving, each lady is given a tote bag filled with personal and hygiene items and a few goodies. Lawndale's contribution is bar bath soap. A collection box is located on the 1st floor next to the drink/snack machines. Collection will end on Sunday, August 9th. Thank you for your support with this project!
