Class News
  • Reminder!!! There will only be one Worship Service next Sunday, July 5th, at 10:30 am. Please be prepared to start our LJG at 9:00. We will need to finish LJG by 10:15 on the dot and be in the Worship Center at or before 10:30. Thanks for your help!
  • Thanks Jeremy for a wonderful lesson this morning. The title of next week's lesson is Follow the Spirit. The background passage for next week is Galatians 5:16-26. The lesson passage for next week is Galatians 5: 16-26. 
  • Next week will also be David McManus' last Sunday teaching our LJG. On behalf of everyone in the class, thank you David for your time, devotion, commitment and allowing the Lord to bless us through YOU!

  • Men's Bible Study: Will meet this Friday, July 3rd at 6:30am at the Chick-fil-A on Guilford College Road. All men are welcome!
  • Women's Bible Study: Will meet Thursday, July 2nd at 6:45 at Priscilla Martin's House (6709 Poplar Grove Tr). We will continue with week 3 in our book, The Frazzled Female, by Cindi Wood. All women are welcome!
  • Men's Basketball: Will have their first game tomorrow, June 29th at 6:00pm in the CLC. If you plan to play, please bring a couple of bucks (if you haven't paid) to help cover the cost of the team t-shirt.

Church/Promoter News

We Say Thank You: Patriotic Service next Sunday, July 5th at 10:30am. This celebration will be a great day as we honor our Christian heritage as Americans. Join us as we pay tribute to representatives from all branches of the military. This is a great opportunity to invite friends, family and neighbors to our church.

Contemporary Christian Artist Matthew West will be in concert HERE at Lawndale to benefit the Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center on Friday, July 24th at 7:00pm. Purchase individual tickets at www.itickets.com. Floor seating is $16 each and balcony seating is $14 each. For a group discount on ten or more tickets, contact the GPCC at 274-4901. Discounted group tickets are $12 each for floor and $10 each for balcony. Silver Celebration ticket packages are also available through the GPCC - $250 includes 2 celebration preferred seats, autographed merchandise, and a time before the concert to meet and have a photo taken with Matthew West. 

Boone Mission Trip: Plans have been made for a mission trip to Boone, NC from Monday August 10th through Friday, August 14th. We will be making repairs, painting, working at a food pantry and thrift shop and other ministry areas. The cost will be $125/person - double occupancy. This will also cover food and transportation. If you would like to attend this trip or have any questions, please call Bill Bailey at 282-3272 or Tony McGrady at 282-8124. All reservations will need to be in by August 1, 2009.

Marriage Seminars: Please register with Jennifer Wilson at 288-3824 at least a week before the event. If childcare is needed, please indicate the child's name and age.

Activities
Church-wide Picnic: Sunday, July 19th at Bur Mil Park. Activities will begin at 4:00pm and dinner will being at 6:00pm. The church will provide hamburgers and hot dogs, buns, chips, and condiments. You are asked to bring side dishes such as baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad and desserts. We also ask that you bring drinks, cups, and ice for your family.
