Class News

  • Thanks Billy for another great lesson this morning! 
  • Please remember our LJG will NOT meet next Sunday. The Patriotic Celebration Service will start promptly at 10:30am. Childcare will only be available for babies - 2's.
  • July Small Group Social: If you would like to participate in July's small group social and you have not had a chance to sign up, please contact Misty or Laura P and they will put you in a group.
  • We will count the LBC cook out on July 11th as our class "lunch" for the month.
  • If you would be willing/able to accompany The Wallaces in taking our food collection to Mary's House this Tuesday, please contact Nathan to make arrangements. 
LBC News

Won Generation Concert: Join us this evening at 6:15pm for our HIgh School Choir and Fusion Band concert! Students will be leading the entire service that will include testimonies from their mission trip.

Special Called Business Meeting: Following the PM service this evening, we will present and vote on the financial recommendation from the AD HOC and Stewardship Committees on the CLC repairs.

Freedom's Never Free: Join us on Sunday, July 4th for our Patriotic service at 10:30am. There will only be one service and LJGs will not meet. Childcare will be provided for babies-twos.

Preschool/Children
MFs, GAs, and RAs: These age-appropriate and life-changing programs for missions education and participation will resume in September. Leadership is needed in various age groups. GA leaders are needed for grades 1-2 and 5-6. RA leaders are needed for a few age groups. Stephanie Nichols, Neal Matthews, Amy Arthur and Arvil Pennington will be glad to explore your place of service in these groups with you.


Students
411: Sundays @ 6:15pm.
Fusion: Wednesdays @ 6:30pm in the Chapel.
Middle School VBS: June 21-25 from 9am-Noon; Registration is available online and in the church lobby.
Parent Meeting for Summer Camp: TODAY @ 5pm in the Chapel. Information regarding what to pack and a schedule of events will be handed out. Please bring with you any final payments or medical forms that need to be turned in. If you are not sure of your balance, contact Debbie Turcola at 288-3824. If you cannot attend the meeting, please call the church office and we will mail you the information.

Married Adults
Father/Son Camping Trip: July 31-August 1. IF you are interested, contact Benjamin Bright at 643-1686 or benjamin_bright@vfc.com
Marriage 301: Saturday, July 24th from 9am-Noon. 'Partnership for the Journey' is a class to help guide couples in the same direction. You will learn helpful principles to grow in oneness and like-mindedness. If you would like to participate, please contact the church office at 288-3824. Also, if you will need childcare, please be sure to tell us the names and ages of your children.
Operation Outreach: Sunday, August 1st at 4:00pm; meet in room 263.
Parenting 201: August 21st from 9am-Noon. Parents with children between the ages of 5-10 will benefit most from this course. The goal is to help equip parents in the character development on their children. If you would like to participate, please contact the church office at 288-3824. 

Activities
Summer Sports Camp: Registration forms are available in the church office. Basketball and soccer camps will be held at Mendenhall Middle School.
Church-Wide Picnic: Sunday, June 11th at Bur-Mil Park, Shelter #4. Activities begin at 4pm. Dinner will begin at 6pm. LBC will provide hot dogs, buns, chips and condiments. You are asked to bring side dishes. You will also need to bring drinks, cups and ice for your family. After dinner, you will want to stay for "Lawndale's Got Talent," an exciting show featuring you- our Lawndale members. Those wishing to be in the talent show may sign up in your LJG.
VA Creeper Trail & Camping Trip: Join us August 6th-8th for a weekend of family fun and adventure. We will leave Friday morning from the church and your cost will be dinner Friday and Saturday night, breakfast Saturday and Sunday morning, and Sunday lunch. You are also responsible for the bike trail fees: Bike Rental $55/person. Your own bike $49/person.

Additional Announcements
Attention LifePlus Facilitators: The Fall Semester of LifePlus will begin Sunday, September 12th. If you are interested in leading a LifePlus class for the fall semester, please secure an application from your LJG leader or the church office. Please complete the required information and return it to the church office, Curt Dean, or Gary Wade by July 11th. Upon approval of your course material, your syllabus will be due by August 1st. 
The Shepherd's Shelf Food Pantry: Is looking for volunteers to help distribute food bags to those in need. Sign-up in the foyer today! For more details, e-mail Meg Randall at megrandall@triad.rr.com.
New Summer Bible Study: 'Living Your Life as a Beautiful Offering' by Angela Thomas begins Tuesday, June 29th from 7pm-9pm in room 215. To sign up for this 6 week study, contact Meridith Rubenstein at 931-1492. Cost is $11 for workbook.
Church-Wide Workday: Saturday, July 24th from 7:30am-10:30am. We are planning to do some additional mulching and pruning along the fence line of our campus. 
ARC (Adults Reaching Children): There will be a kick-off meeting on Sunday, August 1st at 5pm for any adults interested in reaching out to the children in our community.
