Class News
  • The title of next week's lesson is Keeping the Truth. The background and lesson passage for Sunday is Colossians 2:8-23. Before Sunday, please take a moment to prayerfully read through the passage to prepare for the lesson.
  • Happy Belated Birthday to Amanda Elliott on April 24th!
  • Happy Birthday to Marc Holbrook TODAY, May 3rd!
  • Men's Bible Study: Will meet Thursday, May 5th, 6:30am at the Chick-fil-A in the Brassfield Shopping Center. This week will be an introduction to the study. Books will be available for purchase for $5. All men are welcome!
  • May Small Group Social: A sign-up sheet for our May Small Group Social was passed around this past Sunday. If you would like to be placed in a group and did not get a chance to sign up, please contact Misty or Laura P as soon as possible and they will place you in a group. Currently, the following couples have signed up: Holbrook, Wallace, Toth, Lindley, Crater, Barnes and Gardner.
  • June 4: Baby shower honoring Jennifer Barnes! Location and Time TBA.

Children's Ministry
Vacation Bible School: June 20-24 9am - Noon. For rising kindergarten through completed 5th grade. Registrations are available in the WC lobby or online.

Student Ministry
VBS for Middle Schoolers (6th-8th grade): June 20-23, 9am - Noon. Registration is available online or in the church lobby.
Consumed Camp 2011: July 4-8 at Myrtle Beach Christian Retreat Center. For all 6th - 12th graders. Register online or in the church office. Total cost $275.

Activities Ministry

Additional Announcements
Operation Christmas Child- Year Round: Each year the number of boxes packed for girls is almost double the number packed for boys. Let's even that out. May recommended items: Toys for boys ages 10-14. Suggestions: marbles, frisbees, yo-yos, rubik's cubes, cars, puzzles (nothing war related, i.e toy soldiers, guns, tanks, cameo print). You may bring items to the downstairs collection area, next to the drink machines.
Share the Change: Pick up a baby bottle this Sunday in the main lobby. Fill it with coins, cash or check (written to GPCC) and return it by Mother's Day, May 8th. All proceeds will benefit the Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center.
Book Sale: St. Francis Episcopal Church (across the street) will hold their 53rd Annual Book Sale May 5-7, 2011. Hours are: Thursday and Friday: 10am-1pm. All proceeds will benefit the needy in our community and around the world.
Teaching Children & Youth Literacy Workshop: May 12-14, 2011 at Lawndale Baptist Church. Thursday and Friday, 6-9pm. Saturday, 8am-5-pm. This workshop will provide tutoring techniques and information to adults tutoring children and teens through a church setting. The workshop will be led by NAMB certified leader, Kathy Boyd. You will receive a certificate for the 14 hour course. The cost is $20. Contact Carla Pless, 282-9459, for registration information.
