Class News
  • Thank you, Jeremy, for a wonderful lesson this morning! The title of next week's lesson is When Family Bonds Shatter. The background passage for next week is 2 Samuel 13:1-20:26. The lesson passages for next week are 2 Samuel 13:19-22, 28a, 37-39; 14:23-24, 15:1-6.
  • Welcome to our guest, Suzanne Williamson! We enjoyed having you with us this morning.
  • Many of you have seen David McManus' prayer request about an upcoming mission trip to the Philippines. If you would like to learn more information about his trip and how you can support him prayerfully and financially, click here. If you feel led to support David financially, please turn in all money to Matt Gardner by November 30th.
  • Our Ladies Bible Study Group will meet tomorrow, Monday, November 10th at Ashlee Wallace's House. Come at 6:45 to enjoy fellowship and snacks. The study will start at 7 pm! It's not too late to join. Fore more information and directions, click here.
  • If you would be willing to provide breakfast next Sunday, November 16th or November 30th please let Melissa know!
  • The Blog Directory is now listed as a "post" instead of a column on the left side of the screen. Eventually, the Directory Post will be pushed off of the FCG Home Page. There is still a link on the left side of the screen that will take you to the Directory.
  • Upcoming Socials:
  1. Football Social: November 22nd, 6:00 pm at David and Kim McManus' House. Wear your favorite football jersey and bring tailgate food for everyone to enjoy!   2. Christmas Social: December 13th, 5:30 pm at Jeremy and Misty Hood's House. We will be playing Dirty Santa. Bring a wrapped gift to exchange ($10 or less). Promoter/Church News

The Candlelight Coffee: Friday, November 14th from 7-9 pm in the CLC. Tickets are on sale ($5) in the Worship Center Lobby. Childcare will be available for children ages 10 and under. Please call Jennifer in the church office, 288-3824, by TOMORROW with the names and ages of your kids.

Lawndale Gear: Our new selection of Lawndale Gear is available to order in the Main Lobby on Sundays and Wednesdays through November 23rd. Hats, shirts, jackets, sport and tote bags may be ordered in the colors of your choice and will be embroidered with the Lawndale logo.

Preschool/Children
Operation Christmas Child: October kicks off our annual collection of gift-filled shoe boxes for poor, sick and suffering children all around the world. Pick up an information brochure from the central lobby. We are offering a limited number of Samaritan's Purse shoe boxes. You may also use your own shoe boxes. The deadline for collection is Sunday, November 16th. (Next Sunday)
Samaritan's Purse Mission Trip to Boone: December 28-30. We will travel to Boone to process shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Cost will be $49.99 per night per room (based on 2 per room, $7 each for 3rd and 4th person) plus meals. Lunch Monday and Tuesday will be provided. A $25 deposit is due November 28th. Submit your check marked "Boone Mission Trip" to the church financial office. If you have any questions, contact Arvil Pennington.

Activities
Co-Ed Adult Indoor Soccer League: The Spears Family YMCA has a recreational league open to all on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Game times are 9pm, 9:40pm & 10:20pm. The season is early December through February. Cost is $75 per person. Registration deadline is Today!

Music
"The Heartbeat of Christmas": Make plans to attend this year's Christmas production put out by the choir and orchestra on Sunday December 14th at 6pm. Tickets will be available beginning Sunday, November 16. Invite your family, friends and co-workers!
Christmas Decorations: If you have any oversized or larger ornaments or an artificial Christmas tree you are no longer using, the Music and Worship Ministry would love to have it. Contact Stacy in the church office at 288-3824 or by e-mail at slmiley@lawndalebaptist.org.

Additional Announcements
  • Ann Vaughn is collecting items for Urban Ministries. There will be marked collection boxes in the first floor elevator lobby until Wednesday, December 17. Items needed include travel size toothpaste, tissues, shampoo, toothbrushes, combs, soap and washcloths.
  • The Single Adults are collecting new or gently used stuffed animals to give to homeless children on Christmas Day. Collection boxes are located in the elevator lobby on the 2nd floor and the children's wing on the 1st floor until Christmas Eve.
  • If you are interested in leading a LifePlus Course in the Spring, please submit a brief outline and any books/materials that will be used to Curt Dean or Gary Wade no later than December 7th.
