- March 22: On Sunday, March 22nd, our Life Journey Group will meet in the chapel to hear Glenn and Rhonda Stewart (Donna Navey's sister and brother-in-law). Glenn and Rhonda will be sharing their experiences as missionaries in India. Please be sure to arrive at 9:15 to allow the Stewarts plenty of time to speak. We will not have breakfast the morning of March 22nd, so plan to eat before you come!

- May 15-17: Girl's Weekend! We will be going to Melissa's parent's cabin, right outside of Boone. All ladies are welcome! More details coming soon.

Children
VBS 2009: This year's theme is LifeWay's "Boomerang Express: It All Comes Back to Jesus" (1 John 4:9): We will visit the "Land Down Under," Australia, and discover the vastness of God's love. We will learn that no matter where we go or what we do in life, it all comes back to Jesus.
- 4 year olds through completed 5th graders will meet Monday-Friday, June 22nd-26th from 9:00am - 12:00pm.
- Completed 6th through 8th graders will meet Monday-Wednesday, June 22nd-24th from 9:00am - 12:00pm.
Registration opens Sunday, April 5th and closes on Sunday, June 14th. Registration forms will be available at the Children's Welcome Desk, Worship Center Lobby, VBS booth and church office.
Upcoming Class for Parents - "Will Your Child Have Faith?": Sunday, April 19, 4-7pm in the Fellowship Hall. This practical workshop is for parents of preschoolers and young elementary children. Janice Haywood, a Preschool and Children's Ministry specialist, will lead this class. A snack supper and childcare will be provided. Register with Jennifer in the office at 288-3824 or jlwilson@lawndalebaptist.org. Door prizes for the first 15 who register!

Upward Soccer: Registration brochures are now available. You can find them outside Jimmy Jackson's office or in several locations around the church. Brochures have been mailed to all 4 year olds through 6th graders. If you have questions, please contact Jimmy in the church office at 288-3824.
Golf Tournament: The cost is $35. Anyone interested should register no later than May 24, with your $35 fee. Contact Jimmy for details.
Take Me Out to the Ball Game: June 12-14. Spend an incredible weekend in Baltimore, Maryland and enjoy a baseball game at Camden Yards between the Baltimore Orioles and the Atlanta Braves. The cost is $175 per person for adults and $50 per person for children. Space is limited so register early! Registration deadline is Sunday, May 10, with a $25 per person deposit. Online Leader: On our new website, there is a section called "News & Events." In the drop-down menu, click on lawndale Leader and there you will find the current "Leader." If you would prefer to read your "Leader" online rather than receiving it in the mail, please contact us in the church office to have your name removed from our mailing list.
Need Copies for your LJG Class?: If you need copies for your LJG of children's ministry, there is a copier on the 3rd floor near the elevator for general church use during meeting times. If you prefer, you may bring your material by the church office during office hours and we will be glad to run copies for you and leave them in your LJG folder. Thank you.
Easter Lilies: Place your order now for an Easter Lily to be placed in the Worship Center on Easter Sunday, April 12. Lilies can be placed in memory or in honor of a special loved one. Lilies are $12 each and can be taken home after the second service. Special seasonal flower envelopes are available at the various welcome desks and in the church office. Orders must be placed by Noon on Monday, April 6th.
